| Duties: | 1. Provides professional and technical assistance to Students, Faculty, and other authorized Laboratory users for the safe and secure usage and operation of all Laboratory equipment. 2. Provides effective technical assistance in preparing the Laboratories by ensuring that the required equipment is available, functional, properly assembled, and safe to use. 3. In coordination and liaison with the Technicians / other Laboratory Engineers reporting to him/her, ensures that the laboratory equipment is properly maintained, according to the maintenance standards, and that equipment and other laboratory material is properly kept and secured from damage or loss. 4. Provides assistance to Faculty involved in Laboratory teaching in conducting the experiments and students' projects use the laboratories. 5. Participates in upgrading laboratories and the updating course experiments’ manuals. 6. Grades laboratory reports and students’ homework’s. 7. Maintains an inventory of laboratory equipment and other material to ensure that there is enough stock to guarantee the proper functioning of the laboratories at all time. 8. Periodically prepares laboratory orders for equipment, consumable material, furniture, etc. by providing lists of required items with proper specifications. 9. Periodically prepares reports and statistics on the Laboratories usage and utilization for department chair. 10. May perform other duties related to the nature of his/her job as assigned by the deportment. |
| Education / Job Requirements: | 1. B.Sc. in Engineering as appropriate 2. Strong oral and written communication skills in English. 3. Work experience in Universities or institutions of higher education is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability and experience to conduct laboratory experiments and assist undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects. • Very good knowledge and experience of lab equipment in the following civil engineering labs: Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics, and Water Resources. • Similar experience in Universities and experience in the Gulf region will be highly valuable. • A Working knowledge of Arabic Language is highly desired.
